
Bagumbayan Presidential Candidate Richard Gordon proposed to put up "floating hospitals" in Mindanao.
In his speech on the students of University of the Philippines in Manila for the "Make Health Count" presidential forum, Gordon acknowledge that there is a need to improve the medical system in Mindanao through putting up ambulant or floating hospitals which will respond to emergency health situation in the region.
He said that people in Mindanao have the lowest life expectancy in the country at 59 years old far from the life expectancy in Central Luzon which is 71.1 years old. and one solution to this problem is the establishments of ambulant which are operational in other countries like United States.
Also, these floating hospitals may be use as a service for the members of the military who are injured or wounded during battles or even in cases of emergencies.
